Is the Capitol Applied Learning Labs (CALL) program a part of Georgetown?
Yes! The CALL is a program that started as a project through the RedHouse and Provost Office at Georgetown University. We are Georgetown Downtown so our staff, professors, and undergraduate students are part of the Georgetown community.
Will my courses at the CALL keep me 
on track for graduation?
Yes! Our full suite of courses either fulfill a requirement for graduation or count toward general education.
Where is the CALL located?
The CALL is located at 500 1st Street right next to the Georgetown Law Center in Downtown, D.C.
Do I need to have an internship solidified before applying?
You do NOT need to have an internship secure at the application stage but will need one by the start of the semester. Your CALL Professional Development coach will assist you during the internship application process.
How does the CALL assist me in the internship process?
While you are the leader in the internship process, CALL and Cawley’s staff are here to help every step of the way!
We developed a proven customized set of workshops designed to strengthen your application and interviewing skills, as well as help you find an internship that matches your professional goals. Cawley offers personalized coaching throughout the process, with CALL staff coaching you throughout your internship.
Can I take courses on the Hilltop during my CALL semester?
Students are not allowed to take courses on the Hilltop during their CALL semester, except for second-semester seniors who are taking a thesis/capstone course. These seniors, however, will need to work closely with faculty and CALL staff to ensure that they are spending less than â…“ course time on the Hilltop.
I’m an International Student. Should I apply?
International students are strongly encouraged to participate in The CALL as one receives academic credit for the internship. International students must partake in an internship that aligns with their declared major. We recommend international students reach out to the Office of Global Services for more information on CPT/OPT options.
Which semester is best for me to join the CALL?
We accept students who are in their sophomore, junior, and senior years. The best semester for you to join depends on your major and overall goals but ultimately you can join the program during any semester you’d like!
Does my financial aid apply to the CALL program and housing at 55H?
Definitely! The CALL is a Georgetown University program, all financial packages and payments go through the university and are applied here.
Is there transportation available to get back and forth from the Hilltop to Downtown?
Absolutely! GUTS buses run regularly from the Main Campus to the Law Center and 55H through the Capitol Campus Shuttle.
Are students from all majors & programs allowed to join the program?
The CALL welcomes all students from any major, or program.
If I joined the program, where would I live?
Students live at Georgetown’s 55 H St NW residence hall. The dorm features 24-hour professionally-trained support staff, full kitchens, and social spaces with apartment-style living.
Is there a meal plan?
Yes, CALL students are charged $1,750 for a meal plan. A portion of your money will be allocated to your GoCard to purchase meals via participating vendors, and on-campus locations. Another portion will be distributed through grocery gift cards. All apartments in the 55 H St residence hall have full kitchens complete with appliances (stove, microwave, fridge, dishwasher) so students can cook their meals.
The CALL also provides two community meals per week at 500 1st NW.
