Coursework at The CALL
The CALL is here to enhance any and every student’s degree experience across all majors and all schools. Students bring their academic interests to the CALL, and we help them integrate those with hands-on experiences in and around DC, professional exploration and opportunities, and a rich array of courses to keep the degree progress moving.
choose your CALL Experience
We provide a variety of course experiences for students to choose from:
The DC Semester
The ECON, GOVT, JUPS, and WGST academic departments have partnered with us to offer their majors a tailored experiential semester in the heart of DC. Centered around a major-related internship and the CALL’s signature seminar, the program includes both required and elective courses in the major, special co-curricular opportunities for the cohort, and access to CALL workshops and benefits.
Design Your Own CALL Semester
Enjoy the diverse opportunities at CALL and design your own experience. Build a schedule of courses and workshops that focus on areas of inquiry, professional exploration, skills, and hands-on experiences that will enable your personal direction and success.
Law
An ideal opportunity for students in all majors interested in attending law school. Pursue a range of paths within the legal field and gain the skills necessary to have a successful law career. Any student can choose from our suite of law-related courses. Also perfect for Law, Justice, and Society Minor students to fulfill their course requirements.
Students can opt for one of our course experiences, selecting from a series of courses, including designing their own semester by choosing from our diverse list of courses aligned with their interests.

CALL students take between 12-15 credits per semester, and must take one CALL Professional Experiential Seminar, one CALL City Seminar, and two CALL Workshops for their first 9 credits at the CALL. Students should expect to fill their schedule with two additional CALL courses.
