Professional Experience
Every student at The CALL participates in a professional experience and is paired with a dedicated staff member who specializes in nurturing individual talents, guiding aspirations, and illuminating pathways toward desired career horizons. Our personalized support system ensures that you embark on a transformative journey, equipped with the tools and guidance needed to excel in your chosen field.
Build your professional experience in the heart of DC
While at the CALL, students fulfill a professional experience requirement in one of two ways
Enroll in the CALL Internship Seminar course
+
Pursue a traditional internship
Enroll in Another Professional Seminar Course
+
Apply for an internship placement through that course or our partnerships with the Kalmanovitz Initiative or the Center for Social Justice
We think beyond internships and consider other professional experiences like research and laboratory assistantships, creating your own non/for-profit ventures, and other possibilities.
Work with global employers
CALL students intern across the city in industries and organizations that fit with their professional goals, interests, and Georgetown journey. Students intern at policy think tanks, start-ups, the arts, and in large institutional settings.
Whether through the self-designed option or the CALL’s curated semester program, students can fully immerse themselves within a particular field by connecting their work site to specific coursework.
The CALL gives me the time and space to experience DC and reflect upon those experiences alongside peers and mentors.
